2191 -> QualicideSister illiria has beaten the Hive again to our desired goal. Damn! I'm beginning to wonder if there is a tactical disadvantage to being last in the play order. Maybe, maybe not. But to get burned twice. Oh well. C'est la vie? Question to anyone: If two human players, in a pbem game, manage to both successfully amass enough minerals to complete the same Secret Project in one turn, at the same time, is that project awarded to the player who happens to get his/her next turn first? I think it does, but I'm not sure? Nicely done illiria! [This message has been edited by Killjoy (edited April 10, 2001).] |

So we did get the SP after all, it is nice having money..this keeps the surprise factor to a maximum. I would gess the SP goes to whoever is going first, so you may have bad luck. (This will, of course, change in a future game called SteamWeasel, which may appear on your X-Mac in about a year as an early beta.. |

2193 -> Qualicide**incoming transmission from Hive Command** Prime Function Qualicide, we are well aware you have developed Nerve Gas weapons. Be advised you are not the only faction capable of manufacturing these weapons of mass destruction. The Planetary Council has been informed of your faction’s nefarious weapons program. **Hive Command out** Edit: spelling (oops!) [This message has been edited by Killjoy (edited April 17, 2001).] |

-> Killjoy*** As the governor of Planet I advise you to be careful about using nerve gas. Not only is it an atrocity and against everything that we consider moral and ethics, but it also adds up to global warming and eco catastrophies. In the same way do I ask the Hive to stop polluting the atmosphere and either build tree farms and centauri preserves or ceise to use crawlers and factories! So we can all live together in peace and harmony! *** |

The Hive Collective happily announces compliance with Govenor illiria’s directive, with the completion of the first Tree Farm facility on Planet. This facility, located at Drone Mound, will greatly reduce pollution and eco damage in the region. Two more such facilities are under way, with plans to expand the production to all Hive production centres throughout the Collective in the future. All hail the wisdom of Sister illiria!! 2194 -> Qualicide |

Hey kids, I will be away for two weeks, from April 23 to May 7 (finally a real holiday)! I won't have internet access for the first week, and only limited access for the second (May 1-7). Unfortunately that'll slow this game down even more than it already is. I'll try and keep the ball rolling during the second week I'm off.Cheers! |

2194 -> QualicideWell, I knew it was only a matter of time... ***incoming transmission from Hive Command*** Outrageous! An atrocity has been committed against Hive! It appears that Prime Function Qualicide of the Cybernetic Consciousness has in fact ordered Cyborg troops to commit a heinous atrocity against Hive troops in the field. The abrupt disappearance of a Hive Rover patrol along the disputed border, and a leaked Consciousness budget report showing a newly enforced 10 year period of Economic Sanctions, confirms the obvious. Cyborg Nerve Gas weapons have be used against Hive citizens!!! The Hive will not back down from such acts of barbarism! We shall stand firm against such inhumane acts! We shall prevail against the less-than-human machines! The Hive Collective calls for further Economic Sanctions, and for aid from her Pact Brothers and Sisters! ***Hive Command out*** Last post for atleast a week. Cheers everyone. 2195 -> Killjoy*** inofficial press release by the government of planet: "We will have to investigate this matter of atrocities immediately. Do the "Cyborgs" have anything to say in this matter? The application of nerve gas on people who did not sign an agreement before is still considered an act against all human values and morals, and it must be punished severely. On the other hand: if the Hive's claims turn out to be false, I suggets taking appropriate steps against such ways of communication." signed by Sister Bella Italia |

2196 -> Qualicide*** incoming transmission from Hive Command*** Using the powers of the Empath Guild we have not been able to detect any evidence of nerve stapling by the Cyborgs, yet they continue to be under 10 years of Economic Sanctions. The only other conclusion is that they did in fact unleash their Nerve Gas weapons. The disappearance of the Hive Rover confirms this. We await the findings of Sister illiria. ***Hive Command out*** P.S. I'm back, but sporadically for this week. |

2196 -> Killjoy*** It seems like the cyborgs did use chemical weapons. I advise you all to not tolerate this act against human beings and nature and stop all negotiations and treaties with the Cyborgs until they pay generous reparations to the UN commitee. (bank account with Illiria). Do not start a war because of it! We need peace and prosperity for all of us, but do not help those who dont follow the simplest rules uf the UN! Of course, if the atrocities are continued, we might have to overthrow the government of the Cyborgs or maybe reprogram their mainframe, but this is only an act of peacekeeping as you all know. *** informal report and advice to Illiria, Governor of Planet. |

2197 -> Qualicide*** Datalinks Newsflash: Cyborgs have used Nerve Gas weapons again! Economic Sanctions are now set at 18 years. *** *** incoming transmission from Hive Command: Prime Function Qualicide: you have shown your true colours! Your recent actions have revealed to all the Council that your citizens are being transformed from machines of higher purpose into brutally efficient killing machines. The Hive has managed to destroy all Cyborg X Rovers in the field. We are aware that you currently have two more X Rover units in production. The Hive is prepared. The Hive is waiting. The Hive is watching... ***Hive Command Out Qualicide: Nice counter attack. Didn't expect it to unfold that way. [This message has been edited by Killjoy (edited May 04, 2001).] |

-> Illiria"""" The Nautilus faction is proud to serve in the International Peace Force that Sister Illiria of the noble Bene Gesserit has asked for. We are stationing one unit in the troubled border zone to our North in hopes that it's presence will serve as a reminder that cooler heads *can* prevail. As Sister Illiria points out, we have neither confirmation from Qualicide, nor, yet, definitive proof that Q has been using weapons that would compromise the Agreement Against Atrocities. While the very presence of these weapons is cause enough for concern, it is still possible that they were deployed solely as a deterrence. Surely, given the Hive's awesome offensive capacity, it is reasonable for a bordering state to establish such defenses as it sees fit to discourage said neighbor from employing its offensive force at a moment of perceived weakness. Please, this is not the time for rash action! Captain Flomper, from the deck of the N.N. Peace Keeper """" |
