"Why shouldn't MarkG be the forum's administrator any longer?" Seriously, I don't know any sensible topics. but perhaps I can think of some later. |

Here's an idea recently spurred from a recent post on the Massively Multiplayer CIV3 thread: How many people would be interested in playing a multiplayer Civ 3 over the internet against/with other humans? |

"Should Civ3 have 3d graphics" *yes *not a new engine but new grphx *no Or something to this effect. In my opinion this is one of the mahor issues with Civ3. Even though sid's already said the game will have a new engine the question remains - should it be all 3d? Refer to Civ III Engine Proposal. BTW is this a poll on a poll?

Dear MarkG,I would like to suggest a poll about the historical period we would prefer for CivIII. Something like:
- At what historical date should CivIII start?
My answer: at 8000BC - At what historical date should CivIII end?
My answer: at 2000AD - What year should turn-wise be the middle of the game?
My answer: at 3000BC Sincere regards! |

Perhaps we should have a poll on how much money players would be willing to pay for the game? ------------------ Zero |

A poll about the endgame:How do you want the game end? Some of CIV 2/SMAC ending (e.g. Sending Starship to Alpha Centauri or Cornering the global market) are kind of an open end to the game, IMHO. At that point do you prefer that you are checked against a "very big crisis" just to test how good your empire truly is? 1. No, let game go on as usual (CIV 2) until the starship arrival 2. Coming of aliens (same as in SMACX, but as a "very powerful" sort of barbarians), that you must survive to 3. Asteroids suddendly discovered approaching Earth, you must save enough people to the disasterous hitting 4. Global Climate major change, you must move cities population or improve them with specials enhancements to cope with changes 5. Main disease striking earth, you must save enough people, helping with research and special building, cutting trades, travels etc. You can put things as long as the Unity Space Ships' survivors came back from Chiron, to help you (e.g. 400 years?) Ok, some others "Armageddon" can be added. Your turn.

How about a poll on whether or not players will want the game to be released on time, or will be willing to wait, if neccessary, for a much better game. Say, for example:Would you be willing to wait, if necessary, until Xmas 2001 for a much better game? In my opinion, the answer to this question is YES!! YES!! YES!! I just think that August 2001 is really pushing it, and I'd be willing to wait 'till Xmas for a better game than to be impatient and end up with something very crumby and not worth my money!! Plus, it'd make a nice gift under the Xmas tree. ------------------ Zero [This message has been edited by Zero_Tolerance (edited November 22, 2000).] |

Maybe so, though I can't seem to locate such a poll in the archives. But the poll's focus would be specifically on delaying the game to wait on a better game, if necessary. ------------------ Zero (formerly jrhughes98) |

OK, maybe this has been on before, but I haven't seen it:Scenarios vs Scenario Editor Should Civ3 have: *A very good scenario editor, but very few scenarios *An accepatable scenario editor (like in Civ2), but a moderate amount of scenarios *No scenario editor out of the box, but a large number of high quality scenarios. ------------------ No, in Australia we don't live with kangaroos and koalas in our backyards... Hey, I'm expecting about 5 scenarios with the game beside a pretty damn good scenario editor (with documentation! )! Civ2 only came with two (Rome & WW2).Heck, I'm already giving my opinion! Yeah, let's make a poll out of this one! |

Ok, here's a good poll:Which strategy game will you be playing while waiting on Civ3? *** Name Some Popular Ones Here *** I asked this question in the What Game will you be playing while waiting for Civ3? thread and got lots of interesting responses!
Does this one seem broad enough for ya MarkG? ------------------ Zero (formerly jrhughes98) [This message has been edited by Zero_Tolerance (edited December 04, 2000).] |
