Hi Im new around.Im an old civ2 maniac from Greece
Diemar your story is exellent so please keep posting...
I only played a game in warlord that I found easy without using any slaves...
Diemar I would suggest that you gave an early save of your game, so that we can play it too and see how it goes...what do you think?

Diemar,
When you get a change to play again, you should really try one of the mods which incorporates the AAIP (improved AI) files. This makes the game much more challenging.

Deimar, this is very intersting. I thought I knew how to play, until I read your story. You've given me lots of tips, and though I just registered for the forums, I've read this column for a long time, waiting for the next installement.

Hey Diemar. That's a REALLY cool story. Great idea too

Is your vacations at the university the same time as in the Gymnasium?

You where the one who convinced me about the "slaver in stack" technique. I didn't expect it to be so efficient but now I swear by it

Hope to hear from you soon.

Holy Hell, Diemar...what a friggin' great game discourse and action report!

yer inglush es juice phien...so just keep pounding on those keys and pressing enter.

I've started umpteen (that's a lot in America) deity games trying to get a leg up on the opposition, which many of you know is the same as impossible...you can't match 'em in power, you can't match 'em in science...it's demoralizing. I've attempted building cities in 'zoned' walls or rings to prevent wholesale incursion, and give me time to ramp up production...no avail. Opponent growth is geometric while mine is like chaining paper clips.

But now comes the Diemar Slaver Gambit...

I'm interested in this slow research idea to throw support into production...does this mean you lowered you science in the civ panel?

Also if that is the case how does that effect the game time for advanced sciences...there are only so many turns in which to 'discover' all the game's science...how does this factor, is it a product of all the increased production from slaves?

How many cities did you have by 2000BC; 1000BC? While Madrid was building wonders (the Sphinx), how fast could Barcelona spit out units...how many turns for a phalanx, a pikeman or an archer?

You must have been pumping steroids into your cities to produce so many 9 stacks to be set against the wretched Greek and craven German scum

good luck with your studies, and for chrissake get on the stick wit the game :0

Hey Pin I think you are going to wait tooooo long for this game.
As you can see from his posts Diemar hasn't played ctp for some time now.
...
But don't worry... the rest of us are good enough to challenge you in the tournament

BTW since you are a 1v1 expert why don't share some of your "wisdom" with us in the other topic?

I am playing this game for 2 months and I played CIV1 and CIV2( and mastered them )and I am also getting my control on this one but tell me coz it looks pretty good to me . also I wanna ask : is it lame for me to play at King level ? coz ppl say that I should try the harder ones , but I keep falling behind on these games . Dalgetti,
Go to the ctp_program\ctp folder and open userprofile.txt. The first line (Numplayers = x) determines the number of players, set x to the number of players you want plus one (for barbarians). So if you want to play with 30 opponents, give 31 as a number. (The highest value you can give is 32).

Diemar,
I'm looking forward to your vacation

The reason why i've set this parameter to 31 is that i wanted to be sure that atleast one new civ could emerge by revolution.
As the game progresses some civs will be conqured and this will open more place for new civs to emerge by revoluttion.
If the maximum number of civs are reached in a game and a city revolts then the city will be added to an already exiting civ. If the city revolts without any faul play, then the city becomes barbarian. If there is faul play involved then the city is persuaded to join the nation who has aided the city in the rebelion.

Enslave them all!!

Hey Deimar ond Co...

Ive been reading all theis stuff in this topic and it seems really cool, I cant wait to see what come next in your campain against the Greeks and to secure your island.

By the way, u guys seem all to use slaves. I never use slaves because its not very nice to see slaves working for u. As President of my civ, i don't think i'd be popular if i captured slaves...it's more realistic to play without slaves. Also for me not to have bad consience(?).

Capturing slaves did occur in history. The Atheniens (?) captured many slaves from wars to use them in mines or to serve a rich family. And the mighty Romans did have a lot of slaves. In that ttime, you could go at the market to buy slaves. And even the United States used slaves in the early ages, it even started a war, the slaving-Americains vs the non-slaving-Americains. But today, it is true that slaves aren't seen at your local market or seen in many mines but somewhere out there, there are slaves in need of help and we shall rescue them (or kill them if we mistaken them for the ennemies )

Sorry for any written mistakes, I'm not a perfect english speaker (or writter)
