http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/previews/0,10869,2761943,00.html I don't know if it has been posted before, but it wasn't in the news section. quote:
The maps themselves also look much better, and have a much more natural look thanks to hard work of Firaxis' art team, which has created nearly 12,000 different tiles to give maps a lot of variety.

Hard work, but the maps are getting better . |

This short preview mentioned that citizens of conquered cities may travel to the nearest city that is still under their country's rule. Looks like this is a simple representation of immigration. cool! ------------------ The Martians are out there somewhere, but where? Let's shoot lasers out into space until they shoot back. |

So, I was right it was new...About the embargo I think I've read it somewhere else before. But the unhappiness of war, and also the Level editor spoken about. quote:
Firaxis also said it plans to ship a robust level editor with the game, which will give you much more freedom in the types of maps you can create.
 |
I hope if it means that you for a specific map or scenario may edit the map graphics. |

Also from the GameSpot preview:"Of course, you can also use a less diplomatic approach and cut off trade by simply attacking trade routes, but then you run the risk of losing the trust of other civilizations, who'll be wary of your militant ways." Have we previously heard about the ability to attack trade routes? This was an option in the CtP games; will it be implemented in a similar fashion? |

Yeah I read the preview. I thought the only thing that was really new was the bit about trade embargoes ( and started a thread on it) but apparently we have seen it before? |

Sorry to disappoint you, but I found an earlier mentioned trade embargo. It was mentioned in the diplomacy game update on the official site. quote:
http://www.firaxis.com/civ3/gameupdate.cfm?updatenum=2 Furthermore, diplomatic relations have been deepened to include a number of new diplomatic agreements that can be added on top of a standard peace treaty. For example, your relations with the Zulus might include a peace treaty as well as a mutual protection pact, a right of passage agreement, and a trade embargo against the French.
