Gammaray fan Chieftain Apr 2001 posted May 18, 2001 08:57         One of the 'fun' things that made Civ1 great was the civ-specific fanfare that blasted out the speakers whenever you entered into diplomatic negotiations, and the other thing was the 'win battle' 'lose battle' fanfares. (nothing fancy, just two notes). The boring 'battle sounds' of civ2 don't compare (because it says nothing about who won or lost a battle). Similarly, civ2 had no civ fanfares, making each civ exactly the same in terms of audio effects. Civ doesn't need MUSIC as such (just take CTP for example - I'd prefer to put on my own favourite CD) but it definitely NEEDS sound effects!
