From the GameSpot preview: quote:
Another feature that isn't in the game as of yet is multiplayer. Firaxis is still deciding how it wants to incorporate multiplayer into the game, and before it does so, the development team wants to make sure that Civilization III's single-player mode is as good as it can possibly be.

Bleh. This does not bode well for multiplayer support. |

Sid spoke of a couple of interesting new concept in previus interview. To be fair he said the same about Dino... They are probably realizing Civ in multiplayer is always difficult to set up properly (PBEM and Hotseat are probably not really considered multiplayer). Let's look the glass as half full: may be they are considering to implement our loved Simultaneous Turn Execution, at least in multiplayer ------------------ A weapon is a device for making your enemy change his mind. The mind was the first and final battleground, the stuff in between was just noise. - Admiral Naismith |

You know, I made the mistake of buying AOE II (I hated it). Anyway, the mutliplayer aspect of this game would be really great for someone who likes RTS. I can only dream how great civ 3 multiplayer is going to be if implemented correctly. It would be absolutely amazing. |

Tell them to go over to master of orion 3's website and borrow thier multiplayer ideas. They have taken a lot of other ideas from master of orion, a few more wouldn't hurt I think its a really GOOOD thing they are borrowing heavilly from there. (didn't the civ team make that game right before civ2 at microprose?)Master of orion is basically civ in outer space
