Hi, I've read all of the recent posts on this topic but don't recall seeing this suggested. Perhaps on random maps, civ specific units won't be available? Does anyone know otherwise? It would then make sense, for example, to have Germans with panzer tanks in a WWII scenario. What do you think?

Why don't you think so? Did you read this in one of the magazine articles on Civ III or hear it from an official source or are you just guessing?

because existing user designed WW2 scenarios have loads of special WW2 era units. And ditto for any other historic period. By editing of files, inclusion of extra art, etc. Unique units therefore must refer to something in the basic game. LOTM |
