Something small, unintrusive, but easily recognizible by anyone that's ever been here/been a regular here. After all, we DID contribute greatly with The List, don't we deserve it?  |

Yeah!I liked the reference to SMAC forum posters in the backstory to the game (check Story #25!!). |

I totally agree. They could add the line(s):
...to all the players and to all the people at Apolyton (and other forums) with all their wonderfull suggestions and inputs. |

i hope they do recognize Apolyton site, or at least it's creators, becuase not only do we act as a resource for ideas, but also as a means for advertising teh game when it is released, which whill ultimately help their profits.aside:
in CTP2 (& ctpI?) you could edit the credits...i was upset with the game quality of CTPII, so i deleted the programmers (or maybe it was just the QC people, i forget which) and put my dog's name in it

in the credits is fine. but i mean IN the actual game. perhaps in the graphics for the "computer advance" have the guy on the computer looking at an Apolyton web page. or something like that, i dunno. |

yeah that too. but i mean IN GAME, while the game is playing!similar to how in the simcity games there all these wierd inside joke type things. . for example, the references to llama's. |

I think its enough that they add a general thanks to all Civ-3 fans/forums out there - not just Apolyton. Why should Apolyton be singled out? So we have contributed with most ideas - so what?
Also, if they add something, they should do it in the automatic scrollpage credits-window. 2-3 textlines near the end of the scroll - thats more than enough for me.

cyclotron- Ignore Echtelon and Eli and you will get by just fine in Apolyton...well... on second thought- Ignore Dookie and Alexander's Horse, and Comrade Dan, and Mao and you will be even better off.

Well, I sure as hell hope you didn't edit my name out (or any of the other Apolytoners for that matter) These days all software products create a submenu in the Windows Start Menu. I would be very satisfied indeed if Firaxis included a link to Apolyton (and other prominent Civ3 sites) in this menu. Or perhaps some of the 'bad jokes' of the advisors could be Apolyton related? 'Our cities are so overcrowded they look like Mingapulco on Black Saturday' |

A simple credit would be nice, but I hate games, movies, books, whatever that make people feel like outsiders by loading up on in jokes. Connorkimbo's idea of it being in the background of a cut scene - where we could see it but it wouldn't get in anyone else's way, that would be OK. |

Or how about briefly in the intro cut-scene.... For example, if there was a flyby shot of a computer, the screen could show the Apolyton homepage for all of .5 seconds.... |

They should say something modest but significant like: "This game would not have been possible without Apolyton"or closer to the truth "We would have finished the game one year earlier if we didn't read Apolyton each day but it would suck" MUAHAHA Ahem.

I still believe that something subtle would be enough. Here's my vision of the Internet wonder movie.It starts with MarkG surfing the Net. His T-Shirt says "Visit Apolyton.net, premier Civilization Site on Internet". Camer would then move to Computer, where we can first clearly see Apolyton logo, and then there's be view of address http://apolyton.net. After that, MarkG would start to read the thread titled "Apolyton.net, Premier Civilization Site on Internet. Come visit today!" After that, we'd see "subliminable" message flashing, saying "Hey newbies, come to Apolyton." Oh, did I mention what the words to background lyric would be? You'd be surprised |
