I want to create a thread where people post suggestions in POINT form. Here are mine.1. Can't buy spaceship parts 2. Part of a units strength comes from GNP or GDP(calc by total trade & prod over an average of the last 5 turns)? 3. Simultaneous movement 4. Settlers build roads, railroads, and forts. PW does irrigation & transformation of terrain.

As opposed to what form? As far as I've been able to see, we tend to do that already. As for posting multiple ideas to one thread, it makes it harder to discuss each topic (of course, I say this and my first post was a 3 or 4 topic discussion). But that's just my opinion, of course, which, as always, is worth exactly what you paid for it. quote:

I disagree. Spaceship parts are produced the same as any other unit. If you think about it, they're produced in a factory, and if you had to, you could hire more workers to work on them, better facilities, etc. quote:

Strength? Or support? I'd agree with support, somewhat. Strength, on the other hand, is more about the training they've received (hence Veteran Units). I like SMAC's idea of having multiple levels of strength, though. quote:

3. Simultaneous movement

That would get confusing in a one player game (versus the computer). In a multiplayer game, I'd agree with you, but not in a standard game. quote:

Why? 3 turns on 80% tax buys you a spaceship. Building factories, power plants etc is a waste of time and resources. This has been proven and backed up on the civ strat forum. I never build factories in multiplayer games now. I highly doubt this is what was intended when the game was built. quote:

So your telling me elite russian, german, chineese and US troops are all the same strength? quote:

Thats what i meant Also what about additional specialists? One for a farm worker and a worker that produces production.

If strength is derived from the amount of support a unit gets then that would be how your idea works (increased gnp->increased support->increased strength) | |
