Perhaps in Civ III there should be a group of new wonders (7) that are all 'concepts' they were never truly built in the real world, but were supposedly going to be the greatest of all.The List- Tower Of Babel (gives an extra citizen to the city who builds it; immigration to get more workers) ? |

It could be a good idea, but I am having difficulties in finding any more examples of such a thing (does AIDS cure count?). |

Maybe such advances as Homer's "The Illiad" or "The Odyssey" which bring happiness +technology bonus' to the civ that builds it....or "The Spice Routes" which bring extra trade/unit seeing bonus' and/or make explored areas not "grey" but always veiwable.. thats just a few, if we're only talking about ancient, ancient wonders ------------------ -=Pangaea=- 31291353 |

I'm sticking with my guns. Too many wonders as is. Though to contribute to this thread in a positive way, how about the Fountain of Youth? ------------------ Civilization Gaming Network Forums ~ The Apolyton Yearbook ~ The poster formerly known as "OrangeSfwr" |

Some people misunderstood this-It is for Wonders never built, but conceived and planned to be built or rumored to have been built However thank you for the Fountain of Youth suggestion, perhaps a City of Gold would be worthwhile as well, (El Dorado) -No I do not think AIDS wonder counts because it is more of a technology and not a wonder. |

Count Dracula's Castle, hmmm? Alright.. I'll bite... (ouch. bad pun.)Seriously though.. Some of those wonders sound cool in a fantasy-world sort of way... but I just *have* to know what benefit a civ get's by having the Count's castle.

I replaced Sun Tzu's academy with Count Dracula's Castle because I had to find some place for it (thought it would be nice to have it as a wonder), and wasn't the historical Dracula a warlike king? |

Oh! you just changed the name then, but kept the attributes the same. That's still alright. I love what I've read on Sun Tzu's theories, so I would never have made the change, but thanks for explaining it. |

hHydro, I kept the attributes for everything the same, I didn't mean to include them but it was easier with the copy/pasting |

Concept wonders is an interesting idea. The thing is that they tend to be cultural things and therefor would be more appropriate if they were "researched" instead of built. Kind of like dead-end mini-techs with short term bonuses. The Illiad and The Odyssey - increased happiness for "x" turns Fount of Youth and El Dorado - units get increased site radius when exploring new territory representing eagerness to find legendary places. Or part of the map is revealed. | |
