Hi folks... hope it's not too late to consider this idea... seeing that a majority of people wanted to give their civ a unique flavour,... has anyone given any thought to currency trading...yep like in real life the value of your civ's currency will flunctuate.. I believe this will make the game's trading system more challengine... so if you want to trade with another civ you have to pay the price of their goods depending on the current exchange rate... and visa versa for other civs who want your goods... |

Yeah! Another poster from Australia! And as to "currency trading", wouldn't that require each civ to have a unique currency first - which isn't the case right now. ------------------ No, in Australia we don't live with kangaroos and koalas in our backyards... Despite any stupid advertisments you may see to the contrary... |

Well.... I remember a scientific advance somewhere called currency.. once the civ discovers the advance.. they in effect create their own currency..I think we should consider other civs "joining" other currencies as well like the Euro in real life.. |

Why not introduce different language and the need of translator? Difference between code of laws and trade rules? Difference between russian and other european railroads, just to make trade transport difficult?Because the game will be difficult to manage enough without more marginal add-on. Plenty of enhancement will do much more for game enjoynment that add unnecessary difficulties (I mean, what's added to the game challenge because of currency exchange?) No thanks! ------------------ Admiral Naismith AKA mcostant |

Lestat, you have right, many apolytoners desire a unique flavour to their civ. Beyond this, where I agree with you, Adm Naismith has right: the game is difficult to manage enough without more marginal add-ons, so why add unnecessary difficulties/micromanagement, which don't add to much to the gameplay?I hope Civ3 will have a much more challenging trade system than Civ2 had, and I think new ideas are always wellcome in this area (and not only here, of course, but in every aspect of Civ), so keep posting, even when others have different opinions ! |
