I think that the cities should be able to build Olympics facilities. In doing so they would be able to choose every four turns which city the olympics would be held in. (secretly of course). For example, The computer would ask the player in single player mode to choose between all the cities that currently have the Olympic facilites built by having the player choose between 1 and however many cities have the improvement. The city that is choose would get 1 gold for 10% of the worlds current population. The game could also keep a record of Gold, Silver, and bronze to tally up when the game is completed. Thus prestiege would be higher. Any additions to this idea are greatly appriciated.Bruce Brubaker ------------------

One of the things that you'll come to realise with Civ3 is that everyone often has really cool ideas - but putting them into the game might incur too much micromanagement.Other than that, this has been discussed at: ../../Forum6/HTML/001681.html?date=16:43 ------------------

I think it would be fun to have this, although I wouldn't want it to cause to much micromanagment. Maybe if you have a certain percentage of special buildings, like training facilities and sports centres, coupled with a decent sized population, every 4 years the games could happen automatically, and you simply checked what result your nation came. At the very least, it should be a wonder.Bkeela. |

Maybe if you are under a republic or democracy and your people organize themselves into city-states or states they would probably start their own organized athletic events alone. You would be notified about this and you could have the option of letting other nation's athletes joining. Then when it became multi-national your cities might sometimes ask you if they can build X city games facilities.(The name of the games should be the city that your original games were held.) ------------------
