Are you Crazy???Do you really think that making a statement like that is really going to have an impact on Brutal, Expansionist, Warmongers such as Civilization II players. Come on, we live to destroy civs and steal and pillage. The accumulation of wealth and knowledge, and military superiority, with the ultimate prize being human expansion to nearby stars, are the things we live and die for. Some of us die more than others, LOL. To spread our greed, to venture forth to colonize, to grow and multiply uncontrollably, to turn every possible nook and cranny of this planet into cities and railroads and airports and fortresses, with one of two scenarios as the goal. 1. Destroy all other Civilizations.
2. Venture Forth and Infest another Planet in a nearby starsystem. I think, if there were Satanic verses in it and you proved this to us, it would not sway my desire to continue playing this "Game"! So you have pretty much asked a silly question. And YES I am a contributing, hardworking, honest, reliable member of society. I really am not a purveyor of pushing idealisms and beliefs on unsuspecting young (and old), impressionable strategy game players. Comments such as yours only serve to degrade the intelligence of the mass majority of individuals. Also, HOW DARE YOU? Who do you think you are? If we wanted any psychotic, paranoid, dilusioned, people telling us what we should and should not do with our free time, then we would become Communists. Then we could let
undesirables-such as yourself, make our decisions, rule our life, tell us what color underwear to wear, smack our buttes, choose our career, choose our recreation or lack of recreation, everything short of actually breathing for us. My personal opinion is that in art you find what you bring with you. You will find what you are looking for. Is it is indisputable that the special resources are arranged in either a "swastika" pattern or in a chess, knight-move pattern. I choose to look at it as a chess pattern and move on. There may or may not be "satanic verses" in Civ, but they don't effect me unless I choose to let them.------------------

Hey, fill me in on this. The last time I ever said that Sid's work invovled satanism was when I e-mailed MargG,and talked with my friends. But that was not about Civ2, it was SMAC! SMAC has a lot of New Age works in it and that is why I hate the game. It is clear for Christians to see that it attacks their beliefs hard.I wish that games wouldn't deal with religion, but according to my studies, that is New Agers jobs and how they recruit people. When I get hung up on a game that it becomes my life to play it, I know there is a problem. Anyways, what is this you guys are talking about? |

Alright. Hey, I making my own civ game, which will probably be done in the summer. Right now I am releasing my demo to my friends. I am also starting my own group to make it awesome. At least this game won't have any secret messages. Plus, programming this game is hard enough, I don't have time to do all that... besides putting in cheats for the game. |

Well, I am not sure if I am allowed to talked about this on this page, only in the Off Topic area, but I will. It is just a game I wanted to make that starts off with a civil war. You somehow have to defeat this king in whom you are warring with, then manage your civ. Right now, that is only the demo. The rest of it you deal with other kings, and it goes on like civ2. I got bored of civ and that is why I decided to make this. The ai is my toughest challenge. Well, I gotta go, see you guys next week. |

Geeez, I'm used with this discussion at the "Queen" forums (Queen is a very famous british rock band, known from songs like "We are the champions, we will rock you and Bohemian Rhapsody"There people are weaning all the time about "backwards messages" and how satanic rock music is. What do you mean if (don't wear a hat) the game is imbedded with satanic (obey ming) messages? Of course there are subliminal (hats are bad) messages being sent to all players at all times in this (scotland should not be independant) addictive game.
