I only know of one thing in Civ2 that really is something when played backwards, and that sure isn't satanic:
Listen to the 'Archangel' sound from the Midgard scenario (FW). When played backwards you'll hear... Well figure it out for yourself 
Perhaps they managed to throw out the satanists after the release of Civ2 (and before CiC and FW). Hey... but didn't Sid Meier step out just then?  |

I would play Civ if our sun was going supernova in 5 minutes Some little religious thing in the game won't even be given a second look(unless it can help in pillaging, destruction, and other game winning attributes) |

Oh, and yes, Horse, I have noticed the same thing. The really nice thing about it is, though, that they're the voices I used to hear inside my head. Now they've transferred into the Civ software. Which, I guess, can only mean my brain is now even emptier than before.------------------

I've also noticed that when the barb leader is cornered, and moving to and fro on one spot, he's actually saying "Jehovah, Jehovah!"Anyone else notice that?

Yep, that's the right place (he he). I think the real reason MarkG is pissed about this is that they blew him off. They're like that and he's probably not used to it, having been quasi omnipotent here for so long That would mean nothing to the AnG site owners. ------------------
