something's wrong with my civctp.exe file
located in ...CTP\ctp_program\ctp\

I can start and load games with no problem, but they crash whenever i try to execute a command.
(example-- "build city" or "end turn")

that's when i get the "Illegal Function in civctp.exe..." message, from windows

This just started a couple days ago, before that everything worked great

I'm sure i have everything installed properly, and this error occurs on standard games, as well as modded games.

anyone know whats wrong?

I was thinking if i replace the civctp.exe file, things might start working again?

Would anyone want to send me this file? I really don't want to do another clean install.
(you need to have both the 1.2 patch and 1.21 hack installed)

one more question--- does CTP make any registry entries when installed? if so, where?

If you have the 1.2 patch you can change the extension from .exe to .zip and open it with a zip utility and extract the civctp.exe manually.

i never even thought of that

i tried it, but i still got the same error
(yes, i updated it with the 1.21 hack)

thanks anyway

i've given up, CTP is no longer on my system and i will NEVER buy another Activision product
