I'm having trouble getting a game going.
Here are the exact steps i took, in detail.

I hope someone can take the time to go through and let me know if any little thing should be done different.
thanks

1) Uninstall CtP and delete all directories related to it.
2) Reboot your computer
3) Do a Maximum/Full CtP install
4) Reboot
5) Start/save a game
6) Install CtP v1.2 Patch
7) Reboot
8) Start/save a game
9) Install V1.21 Hack
10) Reboot
11) Start/save a game

---next day---

12) Downloaded MedPack4 (from Wes's homepage on 1/19/01).
I installed it by unzipping the following files to
C:\Program Files\Activision\Civilization-Call To Power

  1. med4_main.zip
  2. med4_pic.zip
  3. med4_smv.zip
  4. Medmod_4_update.zip

13) I wanted to create a map to use with the medpack.
Here's what i did---

  • created folder scen0003 in ...CTP\scenerios\MedPack4

  • created file Scenerio.txt in ...CTP\scenerios\MedPack4\scen0003

  • named the game "Jordan" in scenerio.txt

  • changed number in Packlist.txt from 3 to 4

14) Then i started CTP.
I selected MedPack scenerio (random map), and clicked Launch Editor.
(do you need to select the scenerio when using the editor?)

15) I designed a map and clicked "Save Scenerio As"

In the first box i put "Jordan", as i named it in Scenerio.txt

In the second box i put savegame.csg

Then i quit CTP, and moved savegame.csg to ...CTP\scenerios\MedPack4\scen0003

16) Then i started CTP again.
I selected New Game >> Scenerio >> MedPack4 >> Jordan

I selected my options and the game started.

It played great until i quit around 1150AD.

Now, when i try to load my game, CTP crashes.

Here's the steps i took when trying to load my game---

  • start CTP >> New Game >> scenerio >> MedPack4 >> Random

  • after random map game loads, click Options >> Load Game

  • select my saved game

That's when CTP crashes.
I've tried numerous times with no luck.

It'll either crash with no message at all, or it will say something about a sprite file.
I also get the illegal function message from Windows

Please help!

I don't know if it has anything to do with it, or if you merely forgot to write that you did it in the post, but here goes. Did you install the apolyton pack after installing the hack and before installing the medmod? I seem to remember reading that med mod was created to go with the apolyton pack, using some of the stuff from there. I could of course be totally wrong, but you could give it a shot... It might meen that you would need to start over though.

Edit: never mind. I should read posts more carefully and not tell you to do things you already tried.

Oh, i guess that explains it.

I didn't install the Apolyton Pack because i thought it was included in the MedPack4

thanks!!
