I am a newbie to CTP who has purchased the DVD version. I understand that I need to patch the game to version 1.2 to use the various mods avaialable through this site however Activision have confirmed that a 1.2 patch is not avaialable for the so called "enhanced" DVD version. The read me file indicates that it is patched to 1.1. Can anyone suggest how I may be able to use the mods given these limitations. As you might expect I am a little irritated to find the "enhanced" version appears to lack the improvements and flexibility available in the patched CD version. Have I been conned?!!!Any help would be gratefully received, Cheers Waylander. |

If you can't use the 1.2 patch, then I would recommend you get your money back, and use it to get the CD version of the game. I don't know anything about how DVD's compare to CD's, though, so hopefully some of the more tech-savvy people here can fill you in. |

Thanks for your reply. I bought the game 2 \ 3 weeks ago so I do not know if I will be able to get a refund. I'll give it a go though. Perhaps Apolyton could post a warning to all potential buyers of the game to avoid purchasing the DVD format if they wish to benefit from the mods and enhancements avaialable through the site. I am incredibly pissed off that the grandly described "enhanced" version of what is a brilliant game does not have the same support from Activision as the CD format. I have e-mailed them again to ask if they are likely to produce a 1.2 patch but I am not hopeful. Thanks again for your advice, Waylander. |
