Based on the tremendous wealth of info for learning to play Civ II that lives in the Civ II threads, I assume that there are some similar "Must Read" threads in this Forum. What are they? CtP looks to be MUCH more complex than Civ II and I really don't know where to start. Okay, with the Tutorial, but after that I mean. Anyone care to dig up the best of the best for a Newbie? And I do mean newbie; I've only had the game a couple of days and have yet to really do anything with it.------------------ "And now for something completely different..." - John Cleese |

You just have to take the time to understand the manual. Then I would suggest you read through the thread at the top of the page here. |

Actually Wes, I like the thread CTP1 and Patches better than the one Mark stuck at the top. Obviously not all of this will apply to a Mac user but it still shows the best Mods to install. And I don't know that you're using a Mac, I just inferred it from your handle.------------------ Big Dave If pro is the opposite of con, is progress the opposite of Congress? |

If you're looking for threads on game-strategy and the like, I'd suggest browsing through the CtP Strategy Forum. One thread is IMHO particularly good, Deimar's undefeated Deity Story. It offers both a good read and some nice ideas on strategy and other interesting CtP issues. [This message has been edited by Locutus (edited August 28, 2000).] |

Yeah, Dave, the thread you mentioned is a good one as far as installing the patches and mods. I took Don's initial post, and put it in the Med mod 4's Troubleshooting Guide. |

Well, guy's since you were good enough to post a reply to my plea for guidance, I'm motivated to give CtP a fair shake. I'll dust off the CD and try 'er again. Although, truthfully, Activision/MacSoft really didn't do us any favors with the interface and system requirements! One question about the hacks mentioned in the CTP1 and Patches Thread: are there Mac equivalents that I should look for? ( I suppose that should go in the Mac CtP Forum) - Big Dave, you infer correctly, I am indeed a Mac user! ------------------ "And now for something completely different..." - John Cleese |

Last I heard, there were no problems with a Med-on-Mac. |
