I should post this in the help section but I don't know if anyone will see it there.

I can't reinstall CTP. I don't know why. The installation goes to about 51% (90 on a minimum install) and then dreezes up. I sometimes get a message that CTP has suffered an "unrecoverable".

Frankly this is ridiculous. I've installed it on this machine before. I've even gone to the help at the official site and followed the instructions there. Same thing happens. Its not the disk, its in good shape. I'm certain of it because a freind has the same problem trying to reinstall the game on his system.

I guess what I'm hoping is that someone out there has had the same problem and has a solution. If you do feel free to email me directly. thanks.

If its worked before, it means there is something that has changed on your machine, or the CD.

The CD may have a barely visible flaw that is creating an unreadable section.

Alternatively one of the system files or perhaps Direct X files has been altered in a non-standard way or corrupted.

You could have a virus... or your file system/disk vdds could be corrupt.

An updated video driver may be incompatible.
