Does anyone out there know how to add sound to an AVI file? I'm trying to make my own AVIs for new Wonders, and some music or something would be nice....Thanks! |

Hi, it depends what program you are using for making your own avi's. I use quicktime and I know it has the ability to add sound tracks to avi's, but you have to buy the full version of quicktime if you want that feature, hmmm not really sure what other programs can do that, I'm sure there is something out there on the net. ------------------ Gemini |

Thanks. I'm using Paint Shop Pro (how stupid; I should have mentioned that!). If anyone would like to help, I think that AVIs might be neat as an optional add-on to Wes' mod. |

DiscoveryOne,Paint Shop Pro is a graphics program. You can't use it to create AVI's or Sound.

I dunno. I've already made one AVI with it! I was just hoping that there was a way to attach some noise to it. |

DiscoveryOne,Could you actually be talking about Animation Shop, which is a separate animation program from the creaters of PSP? If not, could you give me a brief overview on how to do this in Paint Shop Pro? I would be forever grateful. |

Ah! Yes, you are correct, Skorpion. (Now you know why I usually use the little confused-looking smilie on my posts!) I got them both on the same CD-ROM, and assumed that they were the same thing. So, can you add sound to an Animation Shop AVI somehow? If not, would someone (you, perhaps) like to work on something like that? |

Sorry it took me so long to answer this, but I just remembered this and I did a search at download.com for avi+sound and I found a utility called DubIt which can add sound to avi files. You can find more about it at www.techsmith.com where you can also download a 30 day evaluation version. After that it costs $19.95. I am not a video-editor myself so I don't know if it's any good, but I suggest you just try it and see if it works for you. |

Thanks for the info! Actually, I forgot about this thread, as a friend of mine just got a CD burner, and he works with a lot of graphics programs. Once I get the right one... We're in business! |
