Well people it is now 12:10am over here and I have to wake up at 7am. I am off to start a big game of CTP after I finish this post. I know, I am crazy but I don't care I am doing it anyway. I guess I just have to deal with not getting much sleep or not sleeping at all. It all depends on how good the particular game turns out and if it is interesting.

Prince Bimz: Tell us about your game-night and how was your workday?
Do you live in a Theocracy? How long is your workday? :-)
Did you slept at all?

Talk about starting a big game of CTP, I have never managed to do that..

If I play at Deity level then somehow I always start at the end of a peninsula (or near the polar cap) with only one direction to expand. And then the moment I send some settler in that direction to build new cities, some AI factions, with twice as many cities as I have, would always send some units prowling around to expel my settler(s), costing me scores of moves to get any crummy cities build at all. I usually end up so frustrated I quit the game. I think the settler expulsion rule sucks if my settlers are closer to my own cities than the AI cities.
And if I play at Emperor level then it is so easy it never becomes a big game even if I manage to be patient enough to play to the end to get all the advances.

You should always try and escort(stack)your settler with military units.
