I was very disappointed with CTP when I rushed out to buy it when it first came out. I'm ready to be openminded again now that its in the discount bin  Should I buy it? Have the bugs been ironed out sufficiently to make it worthwhile? I would value your opinion, as may other fence sitters

i don't know how the prices are therer in central asia , but if it's $30us or less (compared to normal new game pricing of up to $50us), then go for it. i would never, ever pay full price for something with as many bugs and quirks as ctp, but i'd say it was worth what i payed ($32 including tax). well, when you compare that i bought smac and halflife for only five dollars more each, ctp wasn't worth the money, but it is what i've been playing lately, and i have been enjoying it. |

Hey horsie, your sig is messed up Personally, CtP is 200% more refined with the mods available, buy it.. its like a whole new game, but with the same lame graphics. |

Hmm yes.. now in American English please CtP is a much more refined game with the Apolyton pack and AAIP's.. I don't know what you're looking for really though.. Turns take a few more minutes than they used to because of the mods, but its an evil that we all live with. |

AH,No, we don't exactly brim over with enthousiasm because you're not the first to ask this question (and you haven't exactly made yourself very popular on this forum in the past ) Anyway, if you're willing to accept that CtP is different than Civ2 and when you install some patches and mods etc. (read the tread "Which mods should I get? A newbie guide." to learn which ones) then CtP is definite worth a second try. The fact that ghen was recently 'converted' is the best evidence of that... Locutus |

Mark, my interest is genuine. Close the thread If I get twisted I'd also like to know if you have to download mods or if they have been incorporated in later versions. ------------------
