First let me start off saying that I have never customized or modified any of the original files that came with any game. I have absolutely no experience in this area. However, with the game I see some things I want to change (is that a bad sign?).Anyways, I'd appreciate if somebody could help me on the following things: 1. I'm always the same darn color! Blue! Is there anyway to change this? I cannot stand being blue anymore. 2. The opponents are ALWAYS the same. I play with 5 civs and no matter who I am, Aussies, Incans, Ethiopians, etc. My opponents are always Irish, Scottish, American, and English. And the Americans are always closest. This is really making the game very tiresome and boring. Almost making me want to not play it is so repetative. Hmm...that's about all for now. If anyone has an FAQ or webpage on how to modify these files please let me know. Otherwise please post here and tell me how to do it. All help is greately appreciated |

editing most of the files is pretty easy. you go into windows explorer and the ctp2 folder, default then gamedata and you can click on unit/ terrain/ etc etc all those files you can open and modify the text adn it will work in a new game. new game not saved one.some changes can be tricky so make careful you do it exact and check others to see you did it right. for example to be able to put missile on battleship you have to copy the format for cargo from another unit that has it, and put can carry small air, just look at a nuke sub and then the battleship and you will see what changes you have to make. you can change unit power, speeds, heck you can even make it so a catapult cant shoot down a fighter anymore. practice with it, its easy and u can do it with tons of files |

That's probably talking about the player profile. In the same directory as the Colors00.txt, look for profile.txt (I think that's what it is). Open it and see if you find the line you're talking about. Change the "yes" to "no" and see what happens when you start a new game. You may also need to change that line in the "Userprofile.txt" file.
