No. It is not possible to switch, save files are incompatible between 1.2 and 1.2.1 (there was a bug in 1.2 that has been fixed)My question concerned the new games that are about to get started soon  |

I would like to start using the new version on all new games. I'm tired of booting up in OS 8.6 just to play a turn.Ash

I, too, want to upgrade to 1.2.1. The only smacx game I am currently playing is in excelsis deo which is making slow progress. So, I will try to set up 1.2.1 before the Hive convention begins. |

I'm thinking of upgrading to the 1.2.1 patch, but I have a few questions;If I upgrade to the 1.2.1 (SMAX I assume) will I still be able to play any current PBEM games that were started with 1.2 (ie. pbem SMAX #5)? (For some reason I seem to remember reading somewhere that it could be a problem...) If not, how is everyone still maintaining those games, while starting new games with 1.2.1? (probably a dumb question—but bare with me) Does the 1.2.1 patch solve the problems some were experiencing while using OS 9.1 (ie. colour issues if I remember correctly)? Thanks. |

You won't be able to play PBeM games started under 1.2. I've had to keep a copy of 1.2 around in order to play the PBeM games that I was in before the update came out. The 1.2.1 update fixes the OS 9.1 problems as far as I can tell. |
