I would like to start another game since some of the games that are still in progress are entering the last phase (final conquest)...and starting now could help pass the first, unexciting, 50 turns without getting bored and without too much time consumed.

Settings:
4 players (hopefully a turn per day, average of 4 turns a week?!)
difficulty: second highest
map: the tournament map, all players on the islands, computer players on the poles (i will check to see it is like that before sending out the 1st turn)
mind worms: many or few?
factions: how about the computer players being the aliens, everybody else uses humans, no matter if we have SMAC or SMAX.

any other prefs?

Yours is an excellent plan, Illiria, and I would like to be a part of it.
My 2 cents worth:
Worms: Medium or many.
Faction: Spartan or Morgan.

The game is setup as a scenario, everybody has 2 colony pods, we all are on the islands, the aliens and miriam at the poles (each alien has 2 colony pods on one pole, and miriam has one colony pod on each of the poles.)
The aliens do not hate each other!

I dont know what the problem is, but the game file seems OK for me here, I just checked it: after me iuts flomper, then Q (as drones) then Rue (as spartans)...?!

Now I'm the drones. Oddly I think that affected what technology is available.

My scenario making skills are at a level that can not fully be understood by any human being...so low even an atom seems huge against them, maybe thats why we have these quantum effects in the game now, everybody switching their faction. But this does will be an interesting game

For what it is worth, portraits during the past two turns have been incorrect for me,too. I now appear as Data Roze and present a less severe countenance, which is quite appealing if I do say so myself.
