Can you play an email game of SMAC in which one player is using the PC version of the game, and the other has the Mac version? |

i got it to work with SMAC, but SMACx is sutbborn and gives me errors------------------

Yes, you can play an PBEM game of SMAC with a PC user. Just make sure you type the suffix .SAV to your saved Mac game before you send to the PC player. I am currently involved in a PBEM game with a PC user and its been working smoothly. And I'm kicking his butt! |

Kill: did you start the game? I just received my first turn in a PC vs Mac game and cant even open it in SMAX. Also the save game is 200 mk larger than a regular mac save game?!  I am hoping to get an answer from bradman on this...after all, HE should know?! |

I did set up the parameters (i.e. steal tech, do or die, etc.) and start the game. Its an SMAC game between myself (a Mac player) and another player (PC user).I have heard there are difficulties with SMAX and PC/Mac PBEM games, but haven't tried it myself. Sorry, no help there. |

about SMAX and PC vs. Mac:
Brad Oliver is working on a fix; maybe you want to send him an email about it. Or send a mail to Aspyr (I think they are supposed to be the right address, but I didnt do so either..) |

Drop me a line if you need it. The executive summary is that Mac SMACX doesn't recognize some PC SMACX save-games. The next patch to Mac SMACX should have this fixed. Brad |
