I play a friend in a PBEM game of AC. Trouble is we usually have to mess around a great deal to get the games to play. Usuallyu i have to zip the file and he adds a .sav extension to the end of the file. We he sends me the .sav file i remove the sav extension and load the game.Has anyone got, seen or could create an AC file typer (ashman?). |

Hmm. I'm under the impression that in order to play a pbem game with a PC player there is no need to do anything special. Sounds like a question for Brad.

I sent Aspyr some SMAC auto-typers a while back. They should make an appearance on their web site when it gets overhauled, along with the rest of the extras. (They'll also be on the SMACX CD).In the meantime, you can search the archives at insidemacgames.com or macledge.com and they'll turn up a link for the auto-typers. Furthermore, SMAC 1.4.1 should recognize save-files with the .sav extension, although there was a bug where you could not load two .sav files in one session. Brad | |
