I keep slaghtering walled cities that have nearly equal defenders to my own. Even when attacked in my walled cities, I see no city bonus up on top. Do walls actually do anything?

Yes they provide a defense bonus, which if you're playing on lower difficulty settings is nullified by the level.... try harder levels and then lets see you crush a walled city with equal attackers/defenders.. also if you have a huge advantage in technology and thus military units then I figure a hoplite vs tank, a city wall just won't make a heck of a difference...
