I was wondering if the production from empty queues:

1) Accumulates

2) Goes to military support (a la franchises, from what I have read somewhere)

3) Is wasted.

(1) should be easy to test, but I'm at work (your tax $$ at play). I did see, I think, accumulated production from a queue in a just-captured city, so seemingly empty queues might accumulate.

(2) Would kinda make sense, and so is probably wrong.

(3) If this is the case, we ought to get a pop-up message every turn, or even at the end of the turn.

I finally got 60% coverage. After ten turns, the gaia controller in available in 0 turns. I think I have a core and satilite in every city. But the science victory window just sits there with the green bar. It is 2413. What do I need to do?

Ok, this is what the manual says (p26)

quote:

As a city grows in population, its area of influence will eventually spread out even further, as much as two more tiles in every direction for extremely large cities.

so this is meant to mean that the city influence will extend three tiles from the city yes?

but, also from the manual (p27)

quote:

Also keep in mind that a city's area of influence can expand considerably over the span of time. Although they may start of small and remain so for hundreds of years, eventually cities may grow to control every terrain tile within a five-tile radius of the city centre!

this seems to suggest that it will extend five tiles from the city?!?

As I am too impatient to wait until I have played a couple of games through to find out which is the truth can some one else please help me so I can plan where to put my cities - how large an area of influence do they get

Just the first in a long line of queries I am sure to have.

I've played the game for a while and the thing I dislike about it the most is that there's a limit of how many cities you can have under certain governments without it affecting the happiness. Is there any way to turn this off? It's extremely annoying when you're conquering other nations that have a lot of cities. Especially since the most any government can have is 60 cities. Does anyone know how to change this??

Someone help me!

My CTP2 keeps booting me to the desktop with the error "Invalid Path" or some such nonsense, I used to get it in CTP1, but a patch fixed it. I've got the full install on the hard drive. It does it at random during the game. It's infuriating! Help!

i'm playing my first ctp2 game on a gigantic map with 8 civs.

i've taken over 60 cities and can't get anymore.

i'm trying to finish the game with the gaia controller but there's no way i can get 60% coverage because the map is gigantic and i can't build oblisks outside my borders.

what do i do now? wait till 2300, use eco ranger for bloodlust victory or restart?

If you check out the creation forum, things like this are address on a regular basis... as for how to you just have to edit the govern.txt in ...\ctp2_data\default\gamedata. For example, anarchy has the following line...

quote:

TooManyCitiesThreshold=1000

By changing the values you can make this a none factor. Raising all governments to 1000 should fix your problem, but make the game a little unrealistic... just like anarchy is... who ever heard of a peaceful transition from one gov't to another, the threshold should be low for that one at least causing riots... people hate major changes like that... and a civil war isn't always a bad thing is it

Hope that solves your question.

Go to Userprofile.txt and on the line that reads "number of civs" change that number to some number + barbarians. That is an "18" means 17 civs, including your own plus the barbarians.

If you want civs with revolutions to split into another civ and not become a barbarian city, then change "maxcivs" to some number higher than the "number of civs" value.

You might want to check other threads that report some problems when the number of civs exceeds 32.

"Some such"?

Well, given the info provided, I would reckon it may be that the program is seeking the CD for files and then crashes to the desktop bc it can't locate your CD in the CD-ROM. It may be going to the CD to get movies or sound files that aren't on the hard drive and then crashes to the desktop when it doesn't find them.

I would check your devices in system settings and you can also add device settings in config.sys and autoexec.bat to make sure your CD is identified properly. You probably have a CD driver install disk you can get that info from.

Other thing is that you may have another IDE device on that same cable? That may be the cause of the failure to find the CD.

your city's tile influence grows with it's pop size. it's eventual size depends on your borders (marked in blue...) if you have no other cities close enough to infringe on your borders, it should very large. your first increase should come at pop 8 or thereabouts.

nothing accrues- nada- just like when a wonder is built by someone other than you- all those turns are wasted unless you stick another wonder right under the one you are trying to build. You may want to put a mayor on there are when you can use captialization it will accrue cash or int. accrues PW.

It is depending on the size. Artillery is medium. Cargo Helicopter can only carry small. For some strange reson a tank is small, probly a bugg..
