No simultaneous moves, but there are 3 extra game types: Speed Turns gives each player an amount of seconds to make their turn, then it ends your turn automatically. Carryover gives you a set amount of time for each turn, but if you end your turn early, you get that extra time tacked onto your next turn. Speed Cities gives you a set ampont of time per turn per city (the more cities, the more time for each turn).

These play styles can help speed the MP game up.

In Ctp the carryover didn't work that well. It didn't really allow time stockpiling. What I would prefer is a set time limit for X number of turns. Say your first ten moves have to be completed within a total of 4 minutes. Your next ten in 8 minutes. A bit like games of chess. This way it allows you to stockpile time more effectively for mass invasions.

How long is given to each set of turns is open to debate.
