From the posts I have read it doesn't appear to be so. I did read Mr. Ogre's little hint on activating the PBEM and Hotseat options (I think that was it), but like he said .. it was very buggy and unsupported.

Basically I play CTP exclusively as PBEM. Was CTP2 intended just as a single player improvement? Are the improvements in CTP2 PBEM going to be substantial enough (once/if the official path upgrade is out) to purchase CTP2?

do not buy this game it is not worth the money, wait until people start giving their copies away.

if you exclusively play mp, then you probably should wait for a mp patch. other than that, the game is pretty good. (except for the weak ai)
