The Fascist units are better than machine gunners and available earlier, but there's a catch -- they all get disbanded when you change to a different government. This is documented.By the time I'd used up my 50 fascist units, I'd conquered most of the world. |

Go Fascists! Kind of a nice touch to the game actually, somewhat historically acurate. |

What are you smoking? Fascism has been toned down immensely. The fascist UNit now isnt even near as good as a machine gunner..(which is twice as powerful). It is almost IDENTICAL to the regular Infantry UNit you get with Gunpowder. Save that it defends VS Spies and it has a measly 5 points more to its range attack...NO reason to be FACIST in this game...If ya want war go Communist!!! |

Dragon's comments are fully correct for Civ:CTP, though. Maybe he/she posted in the wrong forum? |

No, I just didn't read the unit specifications correctly. In my most recent game (Hard, won in about 1500 AD), I built just enough fascist units to conquer my continent, than immediately switched to Democracy, switched to peacetime status, and got alliances with everyone else. This is an entertaining strategy, since the fascists will get disbanded if they don't die in combat first. Although not much better than infantry, as was correctly pointed out, they're more fun to watch in battle. After three games I still haven't seen the AI attack one of my cities. |

infantryman is better than fascist, when one vs one fascist is better than infantryman if both sides have artilleries at the back |
