The Official Call to Power II Strategy Guide is a great book and is very good but I would like to point out an error that some of you might have noticed. In the entry for the Fascist unit in the book its says that they are the units akin to the German SS and the brownshirts and they suggest your fascists might be blue shirts. The blue shirts were actually the fascists in Spain during the Franco regime. The Spanish Blue division which fought on the Eastern Front in World War 2 with the germans was called the Blue Division because of the blue shirts the fascist troops wore. I hope someone else out there on this forum has this strategy guide and has recognized this error as it is a kind of funny one.

Hmm, I'm no specialist on WWII, but I seem to recall that technically the Germans weren't fascists, but national socialists; fascists are very similar in that they are ^£&*%(£ (naugty) people, but not according to national socialists. Also, brownshirts were the SA (Sturm Abteilung; the party bullies) not the SS who were heavily into black.

fascistic adjective

Gwap, yes I do know that the SA were the brownshirts who in about 1934 were destroyed by the rival SS (the blackshirts and Hitler's bodyguard).
But, for time constraints I did not include those bits of informations.

Oh yes and Mr. Murray Mussolinni's Itlay overthrew him and signed an armistice with the allies in 1943 and Southern Italy which was occupied by the Allies, became free. When Hitler heard of this he got a commando team to rescue Mussolinni. They succeded and Hitler gave him control of a small town in Itlay and the surrounding land although theoretically Mussolinni had control over the whole of Italy under the guise of the Italian Socialist Republic. The rest of Northern Italy was under German control, as Hitler had also quickly rushed in German troops into Itlay to prop up Mussolinni. So in fact Mussolinni ruled all of Italy from 1922-143 but ruled northern Italy from 1943-1945.

Actually, the Blueshirts, as opposed to the Blue Brigades, were the Irish fascists. Their proper name was the Army Comrades Association.

Thank you C. Chullainn for the information there, but as I have said before the blushirts were the fascists of Spain and as Mr Chullainn said the blueshirts were also the blueshrit fascists of Ireland. All I was trying to do was to point out an error not start a historical discussion (although a historical discussion in the Off-Topic Forum would be nice)

The German Schuetzstaffeln or SS, the Nazi Party troops, and the "Black Shirts", the Fascist volunteers that formed a third regiment in Italian infantry divisions, were all "heavily into black" - black should therefore be the preferred graphic color for a fascist unit in a game.
As for Germans being national socialist or fascist, their chief ideological and military opponents, the Soviet Red Army had a favorite slogan frequently painted on tanks or included on battleflags: "Smert Faschistii!" "Death to Fascists!", which refered, you can be sure, primarily to the German variety, not the Italian.
