Haven't been here in a while, mostly because I haven't played CTP2 since, well, before X-mas I think. Actually, I went back to playing some single-player Alpha Centauri/Alien Crossfire (this is besides my regular pbem games, but I don't expect you CTP2 fans to know about pbem and I forgot how great a game AC/X is, even despite its bugs. In fact, it is so much better and on so many levels than CTP2, I can't even understand why I stopped playing AC/X in the first place. Can't wait for Civ III- "Get back! Get back! Get back to where you once belonged!" |

I was going to post the same thing about Civ2. I haven't played CTP2 since before christmas as well. About 4 days ago I started a game of CIV2 and it really made me remember what a great game it was!! AND how much it still puts every CTP title to shame: (1) the computer actually initiates conversation. (2) the computer actually attacks!! (3) its fun to play. ETC, ETC. The only thing I truly miss about CTP2 is the public works. I must admit this is one great idea. I will have a hard time going back to CTP2 although I may try it again when another patch comes out...um...if another patch comes out that is. |

I gave up SMAC because the terrain is boring and bland. It's all basically three colors with minimum variation compared to Earth terrain.I seriously did get sick of the monotonous terrain in SMAC. |

Well, as far as SMAC[x] is concerned, to each their own. All I know is that, the more I play AC/X, the more I like it; the less I play CTP2, the more I like it! |
