Playing through my first game, it seemed to me that the forest values might be reversed. The food value for a forest is 10, and the production value is 5. Should this perhaps be the otherway around, with food being 5, and shields being 10?

I checked the terrain.txt file to snoop around, and I noticed that if a city is built in a forest square, its values become: Food 10, Shields 15, Commerce 15 (which makes me think I might be right on this one)

Any one have an opinion on this before I go messing with the files any?

Thank you very much!

(BTW I am very satisfied with this game. Thanks, Activision! And thank you Apolyton for your input into this game!!)

I have wondered the same thing myself. If you look up Forest in the Great Library, it says, "Forests provide a SUBSTANTIAL bonus to the production output of cities."

Substantial? 5 is substantial? If you look at the description for Plains, it also says "production is substantial" for that terrain, yet Plains has a production of 10.

It's hard to say if Forests should be 5F and 10P or 10F and 5P. However, since Jungles are 5F and 10P, I'm guessing the designers decided to make Forest 10F and 5P (which doesn't make sense when you compare it against Plains (10F/10P)). If so, then the description in the Great Library is misleading.

Please answer this riddle, Activision! :-)
