No Hotseat

Um Just out of curiosity, but how many of us actualy live with someone wha also plase Civ games, and if your playing against them do you actualy want them knowing what your doing?

No PBEM

Just out of Curiosity but Noone i know needs to play using the PBEM format, nor would they admit it if they did!
so how many of you actualy have to pbem?

No Canals

Most of the realworld canals tend to be used as litle more than roads, the Huge warship capable cannals tend to be short, or(historicaly) or used once.
Frankly i would wrather use the energy needed to build a Cannal on other inprovments!

Rumors of a lot of bugs with no time left before the release date to fix.

What else is new?
Every game ive ever played needed patching to one degeree or antother, and some STILL have anoying bugs

Only 8 Civs

ok then i guess you have to wait for CIV-III to come out.
oh, I forgot,
It sounds like CIVIII will only suport 8-12 Civs as well(although it will offer more CIVs to choose from)

Dang!

I live near friends who like playing civ games using hotseat with me!

I've tried playing civ games (i.e CTP and Civ2) over the net (only because I get free internet off-peak) but gave up- I couldn't stand my computers constant crashing, disconnecting or something else going horribly wrong!

Its easier with hotseat, so I was dissapointed to find its not going to be included with CTP2.

Hotseat = each player takes their turn sitting at the same computer then move away so they cant see the screen when the next person issues orders. Can work well but often runs into implementation problems when all involved players want to see a combat resolution taking place in someone else's turn. I've only seen it work smoothly in games where all combat occurs at the end of a player turn and no other player information is showing on the screen while the combats play out.

PBEM and larger civ numbers are certainly features I would like to see supported in post-release patches.
