DarthVeda, check out this quote from the new review!!!

quote:

When a
unit is given a destination that takes more than one turn to reach, it will, of course, automatically follow its route from turn to turn; but the twist in Call to Power 2 is that units with stored movement orders won't move until the end of your turn. This means you can react to events that happen during your turn by changing movement orders.

Does that help you out any?

so is the red line under the stealth fighters supposed to be there? or is it a testing que (like the numbers "36.48" next to some of the units indicating their total moves left). either way it appears as if there is a 2 tier system - level 1 for ground unts and level 2 for air units...now, the question is can they fly over the enemy without attacking?? that would be nice.

although, the more screen shots i see... the less "neat" stuff i see. there were so many things that added to the enjoyment of the earlier civs that just seem to be getting cut as each new sequal comes out (albeit smac, ctp or cpt II) are there no more pictures of foriegn leaders? i know there is no more castle/throne room. and whatever happened to your "city view" where you could see what was built in your city.. civ I did it best by letting you look at it grow - it gave a great sense of accomplishment (as did the castle that you could build). everything in ctpII seems so serious (but not the graphics, they have gotten more realistic...that is good) too much text, not enough fun stuff. it is getting too much like a game of chess, and less of game that you want to say "gee this seems like it would be fun". i hope there is more multimedia interactions, and something to give the player a real sense of acomplishment (a.k.a. ego building screens ) hidden somewhere in the game.

after watching it, if you have no problem waiting(or have a fast connection), it's worth the download...

While I'm sure the download is more than worth it, I'm going to resist watching the intro movie and wait until I have the game. I downloaded CTP's intro movie last year, watched it and was very impressed. I like the feeling of opening a brand new game and looking to see what sort of goodies I get before I install and then sit back and watch a nice 2 minute intro. Let's hope that CTP2's intro is high resolution with stereo sound this time. CTP's intro (as well as Heavy Gear 2) was just way too grainy and poor sounding... why did they use the AVI format for the intro anyway?

After finishing the 11Mb download, I suddenly realise that my version of Quicktime is 2.x instead of about 4.x. I guess I don't use it a lot, hey? Now I've got another 8Mb to download before I can watch it!

Well, after finally getting it, I think I was a little disappointed. Probably me just expecting too much. It's pretty good, but I think I prefer the first one.
