I'll take barbarians, because it probably means it's still early in the game and I haven't wasted to much time in a lost cause. |

Many of you probably know that Clash song : "When they kick at your front door, how you gonna come ? With the hands on your head or on the trigger of your gun ? When the law break in, how you gonna go ? Shot down in the pavement or waiting in death row ?"It's the end that's tragic, not the way it happens. ------------------ Oh Man, when will you understand that your greatness lies in your failure - Goethe |

Or as another song says:"One way or the other, Fool Card brother, This is going to be the first time." I usually don't stick around for the bitter end. It's a game! If you have no chance to win, start over. Even someone with low self-esteem would be hard pressed to enjoy getting whomped. Remember the basic rule: "If you are not having fun, it isn't a game." However "serious" you have to be, however hard you have to concentrate, the idea is to enjoy the challenge. Of the four choices, the only losses I've had have been B and D. The "other" is when I get jumped early by another civ. Once in a while, the barbs will weaken me enough before writing (with its diplo to buy barbs), for me to go down. Elsewise, I play on until I see I'm WAY too far behind or until the end, with or without an actual victory. |
