Lets see if you can finish a Civ 2 game without ever building a city. You can take over cities but can't defend them. You can build units only in these cities and then move them out. Try to take over the world or survive to 2020. Good luck. I'm going to give this a try tonight and I'll post how far I get.

Somebody else (I'm sorry I don't remember who), posted a similar challenge. The only difference was you could defend your cities, and you had to kill all the other civs, not just survive. It was actually a very easy challenge.

What is key is finding a civ on your land mass who has built a city on the ocean. I played many games only to find myself land locked, and unable to attack the other civs

Would obviously be a tough challange. I'm going to try it on chieftan first and move my way up the levels but I don't think it should be that hard.

And adding the no defense to the list makes it much harder.

I thought vik did this some months ago and achieved a very respectable result - can't remember the title of the thread.

Edit: Found the thread: ../../Forum3/HTML/001188.html?40

vik's conditions were:

I conquered the world by 750bc without building a single city. Version 2.4.2, Random Map, 7 civs, Raging Hordes, No restarting civs. Diety level.
