My treasury seems to max out around 36k. According to
the trade screen I'm making a net profit of about 7k per turn, but my treasury doesn't reflect this. Any info appreciated!

In the game, you cannot get more than 30k of gold. It just stops there. I have made a slight modification of the programm that, among other things, gets rid of that limit. It is called nolimits add-on and is currently in the apolyton database.
It's for civ multiplayer and the version for ToT should be out soon.
