I propose the following challenge (which may or may not have been offered in the past-I don't know):Playing at raging hordes, normal production and moves, deity level, seven civs- Build every single wonder in your capital. I care not whether you play this as OCC or otherwise, merely that every wonder must be built in your starting city, with none built by the ai-s. -KhanMan |

This is no challenge.Itīs a matter of luck in the early stages, and an easy go thru from the mid age wonders to the end. |

Khan Man, I have a scenario like that in place. I play tested yesterday. But, it was based on one city and u won by getting to ac first and having the highest score. Built every wonder but the lighthouse. Oedon, Not a challenge?? Are u playing FW or MEG?? Also, when one has an occ competition it might be better to seperate FW from MEG. In FW it is just too easy to get money and tech from the AI player.
MEG seems to be wonder crazy too. When i did play test my scenario i found that the computer reserched Genetic Eng. over higher rated tech just so it could build the cure for cancer. |

I have done this more than once. The main problem is production capacity, not science. The early wonders are the hardest, so you find out quickly if you lose. Because of production problems, I doubt it can be done with one city. Perhaps the challenge should read: With how few cities can you build all the wonders? |

I agree the earliest wonders would be the hardest to get all. You would probably want to aquire trade as soon as possible. Than you could start pumping out the caravans. After that point it's all down hill. Good terrain would play a big part - someone say luck?! |

"For What It's Worth" I have done it with four cities using no caravans. I was downright close to doing it with 2 cities, but I couldn't quite keep up. Of course with a custom map like the one suggested above there will be no problem with one city doing it. |

Play on a small map, find the AIs, go to war with them, and they'll spend their shields making armies. Eliminate AIs except for one city, (similar to max scoring game attempts where you build 255 cites) build wonders at your leisure. You do have to find them fast though. Crank you science down, the AI will also. It will buy you some additional time finding them.RAH |

Geofelt-It *is* possible to build them all in one city. It's also extremely easy to do it, if you don't have the one city rule...Besides RAH's enlightened conquest route, the best way, IMHO, is to set up a four city "ring" around your wonder city, using the four cities to pump caravans into the wonder city. It's possible, just tough. O-Nope, it has to be every wonder, or there's no point...after all, who among us can't at least get the major wonders about half the time? -KhanMan |

I came close awhile ago...17 wonders in one city. It was the "world" map, standard terrain bonuses, random player placement. We, the almighty Persians were ploped smack down on Ol' Muddy...the Mississippi River. Great trade and science there. Not too much production, a few trees perhaps; but if I recall, I ended up rush-building many of them because I had the luxury of a huge treasury.------------------ I am the Ukrainian Anti-Pope! |

In the early game, before you get trade, the biggest danger is an opponent building the pyramid. (the AI's Favorite.) The only way to stop them, (short of building it first, which is tough if your racing to trade), is to attack them, the AI's have a tendency to stop building wonders when they're at war. If every Civ is at war with somebody, you have a chance. You have to help. RAH |

yep.thats the one.the ai seems to hold the Pyramids in high regard and usually several will start it and switch to something else(usually The Wall or The Gardens). On deity you need some good luck.I think very rugged maps may help also |

Trajanus-The only reason being that I've gotten to the point where I can consistantly win the challenge at king level, and the seven civs and barbs at raging just add to the difficulty.RAH-Not only that, it's actually a dangerous wonder for you to own, at deity level, as I'm sure you're aware. The population boom does more damage, IMHO, than good, at anywhere above king-level. -KhanMan, Mountaineer of the Sayen Tribe | |
