I have forgotten to mention to a few of the newer Thread Masters an important part of your duties:You must keep track of all the names of people who post suggestions in your threads. I know, "Damn paperwork!" as has been said in response to this. But the reason is very clear: We need to give credit where credit is due. Now, if a person's idea is eventually dropped, we'll still list the name, of course, because even dropped ideas help clarify the kept ideas. There have been some suggestions on how to make this an easier task. But I did it the old fashioned way by cutting and pasting into a text file as I went along. Perhaps somebody with more skill than I have can teach us how to actually use the computer to its full capacity? Please. ------------------ CIV3 DEVELOPMENT LIST COORDINATOR **(un)Officially Making Lists for Firaxis Since SMAC Enhancement 3!** |

I think we should post the credits the day before we E-Mail BR so if someone was accidently missed they could tell us. |

JT,Very good point. As a matter of fact, I left out a few names in my list to Brian last time...man did I ever have to beg forgiveness for that one! (Actually, they weren't really mad, but I felt terrible about it.) Thanks for the reminder. |

When I get some time I intend to write a perl script which will collect the names of all the posters in a thread. As long as we have the threads from which ideas have been collected, we will be able to grab their names.

Amen, write a PERL script. Parsing text is what computers are really good at.Let's put ours to work! Thanks Octopus. I'd be happy to "beta" the script for you. Civ3 n ... Ted S. | |
