Now that we have a home, a semblance of structure, and some top-notch Thread Masters signed up and more on the way, we need to move to PHASE 2: Advertising.Could all of you please find other sites where people might be interested in coming here and developing this list? Feel free to use my FAQ post, and make sure you add the url for this site. Places off the top of my head, of course, include ANY Civ or Gettyburg site, the Newsgroups, etc. And when you have posted there, please keep the post up and visible for at least a few months. This will not only help our efforts tremendously by getting the word out early that this is the place to be for Civ3 development, but we will also be bringing much deserved recognition to Mark and Dan's site. I suggest that once you post, please come back here and tell us where you posted so we don't flood other sites with our advertising. Special recognition in the MAIN LIST will go to the person who hits the most sites (But please be tactful!  --"This just in; The Civ3 Virus crashed mailboxes across the world, halting global commerce. World citizens declare war on Apolyton!"). So far, I have posted our notice in: *All General Topics at Apolyton *The Official SMAC site O.K., gentlemen, let's hit the pavement...uh...cyber-sidewalk. Yes, Mark is exactly right. As I said, we want people to actually WANT to come here (and we don't want angry people here, either). So just post the announcement once, and if people tell you to go away, leave it alone. If you get some good feedback, just keep that one post alive.Agreed? |

How about news-groups?Brian Reynolds has lately posted at least to:
- alt.games.firaxis.alpha-centauri
- alt.games.civ2

Can somebody please hit the newsgroups? I know that Brian hangs out there a lot...my ISP in Korea is giving me a hassle about setting newsgroups up. Can anybody give me a workaround? |
