This is a copy of an e-mail I just got from Paul Cullivan:Unfortunately, ever since I changed my service provider and went to DSL (7/13), I've been shut out of Apolyton. Repeated entreaties have gone for naught, so it's a bit of a quandary how the site will be kept updated. If we don't do something about this, the website will become obsolete and useless. |

I have already written to Paul, volunteering to upload what he has to the site. It is kludgey, but will work for now. I haven't yet heard from him on his thoughts on this approach, but it was only about 3 hrs ago .If anyone else would like to offer to do this, I would gratefully hand it off to whomever is willing. |

How much technical knowledge do you have to have to put things on the webpage? I would be willing to help out if someone would teach me how. |

Thanks for the offer Richard I have already ask someone else to do it. If I get turned down, then I will let you know, because it's not that difficult to do. |

So what do I do if I have an update to post? The new version of the disease model is almost ready. In a few more days it should be complete, because I have this week off of school. |

I'm wondering if we have a new website manager yet? I'm going to do some experiments with my Frontpage stuff to see if I can get it to look the same, I know I can do away with the frames and still have the current versatility in a "non-frames" version, but may have to change the background and text colors, I'd just need to know where to upload to, but I'm sure I have enough time to do this if we have noone else. |

TK:Kull is still trying to get contact established with Apolyton FTP. Last we heard from the Apolyton guys they thought the thing might be solved in another week or so. The problem is with the site that hosts Apolyton, and so it is beyond their direct control. Thanks for volunteering to help out. Could you send Kull any email indicating your willingness to help out, and try and figure out how you can do so given the existing situation? If it seems practical to both of you, we can get you the FTP access. I think for the moment it would be more practical for you to ask Kull if he would modify an existing page. For now, if you have a page with the downloads all hooked up for your stuff, and don't want to wait a week, I think you should just get a free web site somewhere and post your page there, and put a link to it on the forum. |

So, who is in charge of the webpage now? I have some stuff that needs to be put up. |

Please send it to Kull, and ask him to send the final modified HTML files and whatever else to me. I will upload them. Apolyton is still trying to resolve the issue of Kull's lack of access. Unfortunately it involves GameStats (Apolyton's hosting site), and the people in charge have been on vacations etc. |

Hi guys.A temporary solution should be up and running by mid-week. I'm going to be talking to GS tech about it on Monday (likely the earliest I will be able to hear from them). GS just recently hired another tech person to assist with affiliate requests, and up until a little while ago he had been in training and now has quite a long "to do" list in front of him... ---------------- Dan; Apolyton CS |

Was this ever resolved? As far as I can tell, the zip file that I sent Kull isn't on the webpage. If no one is currently responsible for and capable of altering the webpage, I'd like to be able to do it. |

Sorry this took so long Richard... The upshot is that Kull and Dom have both, after long and distinguished service, resigned from the project. Chris Wilkinson (who did the demo4 manual) is going to be the new webmaster. I hadn't announced it yet since I hadn't heard officially from Dom until about an hour ago. We will start a new thread with the announcement tomorrow. I just sent Chris your file a few hours ago, so hopefully it will be one of the first things up. Maybe even tomorrow.Mark |

Yep, and some coders who never did all that much to boot. There will be an updated members list on the web site soon, but basically we are down to about 8-9 team members. C'est la vie.But those remaining are effectively those who have been making all the progress for the last 4 months or so anyway. All that has been done is inactive project members have had their true status recognized. I have posted some advertisements in various places, and hopefully we can pull in some additional members who are really willing to work! |

That's a shame for paul since the only thing wrong was with apolyton and it didn't get resolved. [This message has been edited by Lord God Jinnai (edited September 09, 2000).] |

LGJ:No, the problem getting access with Paul's new ISP was only a small part of it. He lost interest for a variety of reasons... |
