Should it concern anyone, I'll be briefly gone from July 20th to August sometime. Hopefully, there'll be a decent draft of the piracy idea by that stage, though. |

Have a good one Mark. Be sure to take your laptop and code feverishly throughout the vacation. That should prove very relaxing. |

Hi Everybody:Well, I returned from vacation, but now I'm going off to a conference. I will probably be able to get to the forums there, but won't be able to read my email until next wed.

My computer at home was dead this morning. So I won't get any email or be able to post much until I figure out what's wrong. Just so you know I'm not ignoring you |

After a month of vacation in Germany and the surrounding countries, I am finally back at home. In Europe I saw a lot of stuff, learned a lot of stuff, and got quite a few new ideas for Clash. In addition to this, I need to catch up on a missed month of discussion, so you all will probably be hearing a lot from me in the near future as I get back into the project. I am going to be away from Saturday to Tuesday at least. I will probably be away (with short intervals) for the whole month of August, but I have no definite plans.A piece of advice for all Clashers (and civers in general): (at least of the northern hemisphere) Go away, to someplace far. There is nothing to do in your home in August, except rotting in front of a computer, while the others are busy making a sun-tan. ------------------ "In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." Well, Ios was great, but it made me catch a cold, which I overlooked for the last week, until it got the best of me. I got sick yesterday, so I decided to come back to civilisation for a couple of days to recuperate. I will be in Athens until Saturday morning (local time), so we can do some more work together. Can't keep away for long, can I? |

Thanks everyone! Actually, I'm 41... Probably you got the info from somewhere that's out of date.I am reading and thinking about everything that has been discussed since I took off. I am trying to work out a high-level proposal for what we should do regarding all these issues. I think getting a solid overall plan based on compromises that everyone can buy into is much more important than the details at this point. So anyway, although I may not be posting responses to individual issues, I'll be around. I expect to have my proposal up by early in the weekend if not sooner. |

Ouch...my vacation turned out to be a little more extended than I initially thought. Oh well, for those of you who care, the argumentative git (aka, me) is now back. Yes, I know that's the exact opposite of what this thread is about, but this still seemed like the most appropriate place to mention it... Nice to see lots happened while I was away. That means even MORE catching up to do. Grr... |

I'll be away at a conference Thurs thru Saturday (10/7)After that, well, I'm not taking a vacation, unfortunately, but I have a whole lot of real life going on over the next month or so... So I will not be able to keep up with everything I'd like to do. If there is something anyone Needs me to do, feel free to bug me . But no promises as to whether I'll be able to come thru with whatever you want . But at least I'll be made aware of it. |

Guys:I'm sorry I've been out of pocket this past weekend. Work deadline this Friday. I still spend about a half hour a day reading/listening, I just won't be as loud-mouthed as usual until after this weekend. On the bright side, I've got an alpha version of the resource/infrastructure data model structure coded. We can think about putting together a simple Gui to do some testing with that this weekend. |

I've not been very active lately due to some real life catching up. The next couple of months I will probably not be able to participate very much. I've got to finish my thesis, and must have my priorities straight. Will still be reading, but probably wont contribute much until next year |

Unfortunately, I'll have to join Beör...I also need to finish my thesis soon and that means serious work ahead. I'll be a kind of passive member until March/April... That means I'll check the forums every now and then, but you won't see me much around. I'm very sorry, but there's nothing I can do. I hope you keep busy a couple of months with other parts of the game that don't have to do with the govt-social-riots models. Anyway, I'm always available via e-mail if something needs urgent attention. roquijad@cec.uchile.cl

More bad news Looks like i had gotten a good power supply, but something, one of my components (nor the motherboard) shorted it out. I don't get paid till the 30th and then its a matter of $$ depending of the component that is damaged adter i get it checked out. So I can drop by every now and then, but that's about it. |

I'm back:Give me a day or two to clear up some work stuff, then let's have a 'project management' thread discussion in which we discuss the next demo (the first alpha using the new architecture). We can put this out very soon, altho we may not be ready to include the isometric graphics (unless that renderer is finished -- I may have missed that). |

F_Smith:I haven't heard anything on the map code... With luck lee is working on it, but doesn't have anything to show yet. Although I'm pretty tied up with RL until Xmas, I should be able to sling a lot of code the week after. All I'll need is the new architecture which will hopefully have copious examples of the 'right' way to do things . I can code econ, military, etc. whatever we determine is most needed at that point. We can discuss what exactly as the time gets closer. |
