Clash Team:Now that we've moved to Apolyton and are past the "beta" stage, it's important that the Web Site remain current. As I've said before, it's very much YOUR site, and it's incumbent upon Dom and I to respect your wishes. We want you to use the Web Site as your Clash work space, and that means each model page should be accurate and up-to-date. Although the look-and-feel of each page should be similar, they don't have to be identical. For example, if the Disease guru uses several "non-Clash" web sites to assist him in developing his model, by all means let's add those links to the Disease Model page. Anything which helps you "get the job done", we're prepared to support. And of course, there's the regular stuff like model updates, new email addresses, inclusion of new team members, bug reporting, etc. I am YOUR web editor, sometimes forgetful but always approachable! I'm not receiving much email from Team Members however, so lets try something different. We'll establish this thread as the central point for posting requests to the Web Team. That will ensure I don't "lose" an email (I get about 80/day, so it DOES happen!) or miss something that occurred in a different thread. Also, since your request is "public" I'll have an added incentive to respond promptly! To access the Clash Web Site, "Click Here" [This message has been edited by Kull (edited February 10, 2000).] |

Kull & Dom, I've posted the Disease Model so you can update the web page. It's a little hard to understand because I can't really format it the same way I had it in Wordpad, so if you need me to send you that instead, let me know. |

Hey Kull can you post 2 polls for my char model? I want to use them instead of all reading all the comments cuz i have some specific parameters I want to ask and don't wish to read a whole lot of messages. |

Kull, I'll send you those wordpad files in a few days. I'm in the process of updating the models with the stuff we've already discussed. When it is more readable I'll send it to you. |

Actually, we don't yet know exactly what the tech tree will be like, as a lot of the particulars are still being discussed. The posted model has been changed in a lot of ways. It would probably be best to simply put a link to the Demo 5 Tech Tree thread. |

LGJ: Regarding the polls...1) The technology only allows us to post one poll per page. So if you want a "Research" poll, only one at a time can be posted on the Research Page. 2) If you also wanted a "Characters" poll, that's no problem since it would be posted on a different page. 3) We can probably create additional pages to handle second and third polls, but it does complicate things a bit. It's not a showstopper though. 4) I'll return your original email containing the Four polls, and will also forward Mark's email in which he provided different wording for Poll #2. Dom & I will make it a priority to quickly post your revisions. RB: I'd prefer not to take down your existing version of the Tech Tree. It's inevitable that out of date models are going to be posted, otherwise almost every page on the Web Site will say little more than "Model still being revised, see forum for details". I've added a "NOTE" to that effect on the Research Page. If you insist I'll remove the existing model, but I hope you see why I'd rather not. LGJ: I've updated the links on the Research page, per your request. |

To paraphrase Monty Python, "I'm not quite dead yet!" The long sabbatical is over, and the Web Site just received a major update today. New and/or Refurbished models include: - Government (w/ downloadable Excel Worksheet) - Social - Riots (Rodrigo, I REALLY think this should be renamed "Revolutions") - Climate/Ecology - Disasters - Demo 5 Central - Map AIComing soon are updates to: - Coding - Web Site FAQ - Clash Team Dominic is working on a new Web Site concept which involves two different sections: A new "Here's Clash!" page which is targeted for newcomers and those with only a general interest and the existing "Working Site" for Team Members and those who really want to dig deep into the Clash Universe. If anyone has requests or new ideas, feel free to fire away! [This message has been edited by Kull (edited June 23, 2000).]

Kull:Great job on the update. When I came in thru the Apolyton main page I saw your new headlines. They are a good advertisement, but I think they exceed the limit. You may not remember but there was a limit of something like 6-7 lines imposed per hosted page... You might just want to kill all the really old headlines in the headlines file. That would make us more or less in compliance. Cya, Mark |

A few little requests:The Climate/Ecology model will not be in Demo 5, so it shouldn't be on the demo 5 page. Could you label the Climate/Ecology model as "Ecology"? That is what we call it on the forum and I don't want people to get confused and think it is not on the website. My old e-mail address, the one used on the web page, no longer exists. My new e-mail is brunsr@conninc.com Could you put some spreadsheets and their instruction file available for download on the web page? If my e-mails haven't been getting through, you can get the files from LGJ. |

A few minor updates:Rodrigo: The link to the Riots Model is fixed. If you do want to change the name to "Revolutions Model", say the word and I'll make the adjustment. Richard: Your new email address has been added and the model name changed from "Climate" to "Ecology". The Excel spreadsheets aren't working so please send them again (they are completely blank). If you put all three in a zip file, maybe they'll arrive uncorrupted. NOTE: I was out of town for the past two weeks, so my apologies on the delayed response. |

Kull: I think we should go for the change of name, but probably it'll be better for the next updated versions of the 3 models. The reason is the documents contain references to the "riots model", so if we change just the name and don't update those refrences, it may lead to confusion. Now, if you feel like changing the name and updating references.... |
