Currently the Clash Team page has about 20-odd people on it. (Some of us more odd than others ) As far as I'm concerned you're a team member if: a) You consider yourself committed to working on the Clash project in the future, and b) you've posted artwork, or a few pages of text worth of work on a game model, or done coding for the project. If so you're welcome to append your information below in the format for the rest of the entries on the the Clash Team Page. Dominic and Kull try and update the page every week or so as needed. Thanks, Mark

Thanks Kull. Those of you who are sitting on the fence... IMO it would be good to have more names on the list so we can demonstrate to potential recruits that we are a Serious project. I respect everyone's desire for privacy. However, if its just laziness keeping you from putting something up here, please, go ahead and do it! |

Those of you who are newer to the project...We could still use comments and critisms on as many of the game models as you can force yourself to look at. Some of you already have looked at several from your comments. Please check out the Guide to Current Status thread to see where all the models are hiding. Your thoughts are Important, and may keep us from Blowing It Badly in one area or other . Thanks for the new Responses in this thread! ------------------------------------------ Paul: Graphics! That would be Great . That and interfaces are the areas we're Really dragging in... Blade Runner:
I bet you're glad they didn't name the movie "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" as the book was titled... You'd get a Lot of embarassing questions about your nic.

Hi everybody. It seems to be no official proclamation when becaming a Clash member, so I'm just gonna consider myself part of it.I'm almost a transportation engineer (in march 2000 we can get rid of the "almost"). I've been a sid meier's civ fan for about a decade and I'm so tired of the silly things in it that I felt like my dreams being fulfiled when I knew about the Clash project. My main goal is to make Clash a game with the most realistic features, making it able to handle and model the real complexity of a civilization. I'll pursue this objective mainly through discussion and critic of current models. I just hope the rest of you are willing to listen and don't scare too much when reading my posts... I also think I can add a missing ingredient which is a closer view of southamerican civs (aztec, mayean, inca) and dictatorship governments (since this has been a common form of govt in this region) because I live in southamerica. Uh, hello everyone. This is probably a good a thread as any to introduce myself on. Right, I'm Reno Diamond, a UK student and official dogsbody to the world in general (aren't we all, sometimes). I'm studying Economics, Psychology, Discrete Maths and Chemistry. In short, that means that I can work out the most cost-effective way of saying something, work out exactly how to say it for maximum effect, plan out the possible reactions to what I say using graph theory and then watch it do the unexpected and blow up in my face. I contacted Mark last night and now, here I am, shooting my mouth of about every issue in sight. Don'tcha just hate the way new people act like they own the place? Youth of today, grumble, grumble, grumble. My background is that I love Civ. And I love Alpha Centauri. That said, I think there's a lot of ways that they could have been improved. And most of my gripes/suggestions have already been thought of here, so someone at least must be working on the same wavelength. Well, that's enough from me. Bye. |

The Diamond: Welcome to the Clash project! I'm sure you have a lot of good ideas, and I hope that we will find a way to incorporate them. Check out the Best Way To Get Your Suggestions Implemented in Clash thread.Unlike you, some of us (especially me) have not taken psychology, and are sometimes not very diplomatic. I apologise in advance for anything I may say that seems insulting, I am just trying to discuss the models and answer questions clearly. A word of advice from someone who used to be a newbie: Don't try to do everything at once. Each model has an enormous history that anyome making suggestions has to be familiar with. If you try to do something in each model, you will either make uninformed comments or die from reading too much material. I suggest that you pick one model that you are really interested in, research that model extensively, and work closely with the people currently working on that model. That way your input will be much more helpful and your suggestions will be much more likely to be implemented. [This message has been edited by Richard Bruns (edited June 04, 2000).] |
