After many wasted hours and lost sleep I finally completed an OCC game. It took a switch from ToT to CivII for it to happen, but here we are. BTW, has anyone actually completed an OCC game in ToT? I can get to launching, but the AI does a mean job of catching up and then spares no unit in your utter destruction. The AI in CivII seems much more passive. Doesn't steal as much tech or send as many units post-launch. Anyway, I guess I am now on the finish quicker track. What a blast! |

Many congratulation - feels really good doesn't it....------------------ Scouse Git[1] "Staring at your screen in horror and disbelief when you open a saved game is one of the fun things of a succession game " - Hueij "The Great Library must be built!" Congratulations Keep playing, you can only improve I usually play OCCs on tot, it is difficult. I try my best to surround my city with defensive positions, but sometimes they still get through and wipe you out just before you land . The worst is when the AI declares war on you and destroys your caravans just when they're about to reach their target city... playing tot I think is a good way of improving your OCC abilities, the AI is so aggressive you have to learn to defend yourself well and not rely on all caravans reaching their destinations. Makes the game more interesting, if frustrating. [This message has been edited by DrFell (edited March 12, 2001).] |

Nice to know someone else is having problems with OCC on ToT; my experience has been very similar. It's been driving me nuts -- and I don't have original civ2 as a fallback. Guess I'll keep at it, though.------------------ Dig trenches, with our men being killed off like flies? There isn't time to dig trenches. We'll have to buy them ready made. Congratulations MBloom!I must admit that OCC with 2.42 isn't too tough because AI is so nice to you most of the time. Too bad I don't have MGE or ToT to try OCC there.. |

I still haven't finished an OCC game successfully... but then, I haven't played OCC a lot lately... maybe I could do it if I tried more... who knows... |
