Yes, right! But only for AI.Have you ever had (is this correct?) a unit of yours bribed by a Legion or a Elephant or some unit else than a diplomat or spy? In many of my (haunted) games, if I leave my border units alone (w/o stack) they´re bribed by non-diplo units. Grrrr... Moments after, I chase the bribing unit and I really don´t find any diplomat or spy. Very "fair" AI move... Comments? |

And I thought it was just me!!I haven't had this happen for a long time, but I have experienced it before - I've also had my subjects of a Democracy bribed, but again, not for a long time. |

AI military units receive special diplomatic skills training that is not available to human player units. John-SJ

The Democratic unit bribe bug was fixed somewhere before 2.42 - so if you have the latest (SP) 2.42 patch it does no longer happen. It is generally agreed that AI units of any kind can on occasion bribe player units, but thankfully, there have been few reports of AI non-diplo types bribing a city!------------------ ____________ Scouse Git[1] "CARTAGO DELENDA EST" - Cato the Censor "The Great Library must be built!" Thanks, Tizzy! At least I´m not crazy (yet). I saw this kind of bribing several times. But none of my cities were bribed by non-diplo units. Also, during Democrazy - er, Democracy - none of my units were bribed (yet). I think this is a very irritating "feature"... Thanks to all civ players that replied!

Here's the deal:1) The AI can use ANY unit to bribe any single unit of yours. 2) This is NOT a bug. It's simply one more AI cheat (no different than the way they ignore trireme rules), and it happens in EVERY version of Civ2 3) It doesn't matter what government they have. 4) The only AI civ that can't do this is Barbarians. 5) Your only defense is to have at least two units stacked together (the AI can't bribe stacks), or be a Democracy. 6) Only AI Diplomatic units can bribe your cities. 7) The chances of the AI using this cheat increase with every difficulty level. If you play at Deity, this is a BIG problem! |
