I'm beginning to wonder if getting somewhere in the game is becoming more important than getting somewhere in life for many of us ------------------ Chaos, panic and disorder - My work here is done. [This message has been edited by Alexander's Horse (edited January 21, 2001).]

It depends on your point of view. I always loved history and this game lets me express this in tangeable terms. If your missing time with your family, or missing time at work/school, then chuck that evil silver disk in the trash! |

You seem to imply you can't do both I haven't found having a life and playing civ to be a problem |

I can see it: some guy on the streets, no family, no job, just a laptop and civ2. |

Well, I don't know about you, guys, but at least I live a dual-life; at night-time I wear latex, go to the streets and use my super-powers to fight evil and make the world a better place. And in my coverage-life, I'm just a regular nerd playing Civ II all the time. You don't believe me?? Good, at least you won't find out my true identity So, all the superman and batman-stories, were, in fact, inspired by (who else than) me.------------------ Eating people is fun. |

No offense intended but living with your parents isn't the same as having a family. It's your job to blow them off and do what ever you want (I'm assuming your a teenager or close to it...). Wait till you have a wife and kid(s), then try balancing work, family commitments and game play. Sometimes they don't make enough hours in the day to do the first 2 much less the third... |

niteowl: At least I don't have to worry about my wife bugging me about Civ2. She plays also. I'm almost worried about getting a 2nd PC, because she'd want to play multiplayer and she would likely kick my poor widdle Carthaginian butt Narrator: Then niteowl stomps off mumbling something about that gosh-darn Cleopatra and her mindless Egyptian minions.

I have it easy compared to some of you. I'm not even a teen yet. I can play Civ once I get home from school, unless I come here or have a project due the next day.------------------ If Al Gore invented the Internet, then I invented the spell check- Dan Quayle If someone doesn't agree with you, you haven't explained yourself well enough-Luther Ely Smith She turned me into a newt...well I got better- Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail |
